Privacy policy

Riwaq is a rental app and website for Kuwait at riwaq.rent. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how you control it.

What we collect

• Your phone number when you sign in, and your name if you give it.
• Viewing requests, "list your property" requests and visit bookings: the home, the time you choose, and the address and notes you write.
• For owners: the home's details, photos and 360 tour, and the contact numbers you ask us to show. Those numbers appear publicly on the listing so renters can reach you.
• Search: what you type or say in search reaches our servers, and we use Claude by Anthropic to understand it and turn it into a search.
• Voice: voice search is turned into text by your device's speech service (Google or Apple). We do not keep recordings.
• Saved homes and alerts are kept on your device.

Why we use it

To sign you in, arrange viewings and visits, show listings, understand your searches and improve the service. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Riwaq's team, to arrange a viewing or visit with you.
• The owner of a home you ask to view.
• Providers that run the service for us: Supabase for the database and storage, Anthropic for smart search, Cloudflare for the website, and our SMS provider for sign-in codes. They use the data only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists, or until you ask us to delete it. Some records may be kept longer where the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and data. Write to privacy@riwaq.rent.

Children

Riwaq is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we update the date above, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
